The Stirrer has been passed details of a stunning new initiative by West Midlands Police in Smethwick. They have decided to fight crime...seriously!

The revelation comes in a press release headed "Summit Special From Police In Smethwick".

And the first line reads - unedited - like this:"In a first for the West Midlands, police officers in south Sandwell have launched a brand new team to tackle crime"

Makes you wonder what they've been doing the rest of the time.
