

LIFE’S A BEACH FOR BRUM GREENS 29-06-2007 Birmingham’s controversial beach in Chamberlain Square has attracted more critics after opening this week - with the city’s green lobby condemning the sponsors. West Midlands Friends of the Earth Spokesman Chris Crean is furious that the airline BMI Baby has been allowed to plaster the council run site with advertisements for their various European destinations In The Stirrer’s weekly Birmingham Mail column he said: “Birmingham Council has made a commitment to becoming a sustainable green city, but look what happens. “At the first sight of a sponsorship deal for their beach, they sign up with an airline.” To see what the Council has to say, and to read the article in full click here.
