Secret Birmingham (2) COUNCIL "WON’T COUNT" WORKERS PAY INFO DEMANDS 18-12-2007 The Stirrer reported recently that Birmingham Council workers have been forced to submit Freedom Of Information applications to find out how their new pay deal has been assessed. Staff have now been told that the local authority is refusing to count how many of these requests have been made. Not only does this save management having to tot up with the same dodgy calculator they used to work out their employees wages under the new Single Status Pay And Grading Review. It also means that our enquiry about the numbers of staff who’ve made these FOI applications can’t be answered. How convenient (see link here). This means, of course, that The Stirrer will have to make a Freedom of Information request about our Freedom of Information request about Freedom of Information requests. |
