BNP IMPLODES AS TWO EXPELLED 10-12-2007 Fresh from a hammering in the Princes End by-election last week, the BNP appears to be imploding, following the expulsion of two senior members. The party’s head of administration Kenny Smith and Group Development Officer Sadie Smith have both been expelled in the latest development of an internecine war that has had local ramifications. Smith and Graham have been accused of setting up a “treasonous blogspot” designed to attack and smear fellow party officials. Their site Enough is Enough (http://enoughisenoughnick.blogspot.com/) aims to expose what they regard as the deficiencies of three senior party members and raises now familiar questions about the BNP’s finances. Their complaints echo concerns raised by former Birmingham BNP councillor Sharon Ebanks who quit the organisation last year to set up the New National Party after falling out with her leader Nick Griffin. Sandwell councillor Simon Smith – a close friend of Ebanks – was forced out earlier this year after backing a rival to Griffin for the party’s leadership. The in-fighting has done nothing to enhance their electoral appeal; in the Princes End by-election on Thursday, the BNP not only lost its seat, but suffered a dramatic collapse in its vote and finished third (see link here).
