BUSH – IRAQ TROOP LOSS "NOT IN VAIN" 25-03-2008 On the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War George Bush has insisted that the loss of US troops was not in vain – just as the death toll reached 4,000. The mother of one Birmingham soldier has told The Stirrer she would beg to differ. Bush said he offered his “deepest sympathies" to the families of American military personnel who have died in Iraq. He added, “I have vowed in the past, and I will vow for as long as I'm president, that those lives were not lost in vain, that there's an outcome that will merit the sacrifice.” (http://tinyurl.com/3dkzz7). That’s not a view shared by Carol Jones, the mother of Sergeant Jones, the Birmingham born solider killed by a roadside bomb in Basra. As she told Stirrer TV on the second anniversary of his death in November, the loss of life in Iraq can’t be justified.
