WHAT WAS LOST WINS ANOTHER NOMINATION 25-08-2007
Brummie novelist and Midlands Arts Centre ticket seller Cath O' Flynn has received another plaudit for her first novel "What Was Lost?" which is based at a Merry Hill-style shopping centre. It's been long-listed for the Guardian First Book Award 2007 - just weeks after being long listed for the Man Booker Prize. The paper described it as: 'An exceptional, polyphonic novel of urban disaffection, written with humour and pathos. Kate's deceptively jaunty diary reveals a consumer-driven society choking on its own loneliness; a ghost story and an examination of unspeakable loss'.
