MICK SCULLY (Prowler, Birmingham 26 July)

16-07-2007

Little Moscow

Birmingham author Mick Scully, whose recent collection of short stories Little Moscow has earned rave reviews, gives a free reading next Thursday (July 26) at 6pm at Prowler in Stephenson Street, Birmingham.

No less an authority than Jake Arnott - author of the mighty Long Firm - has described Mick as “a dark new talent”, while others have compared him to Trainspotting scribe Irvine Welsh.

He describes the Brummie underworld as seen from the bar of the Little Moscow, a backstreet boozer near Tyseley, where assorted lowlife hang out to plot their next adventure.

Well worth catching live if you can next week. I’m told that if you mention The Stirrer, you might even be able to help yourself to a free beer.
