DOLLY PARTON (NIA, 2 July 2008)

23-11-2007

Blimey, we can't get rid of her. Fresh from a UK tour that included an NEC date earlier this year, the self-styled "Backwoods Barbie" Dolly Parton returns for another show next summer, this time at the NIA.

Part self-parody, part songwriting genius, Dolly transcends all the gags about her cleavage to deliver some of the best country music around.

"Jolene", "I Will Always Love You" "Here You Come Again" - these are great torch songs sung in a voice that wavers between fragile to teak-tough.

Expect multiple costume changes, endless yee-ha's and a great performance.

Tickets on sale from this morning priced £50-£65 from www.theticketfactory.com
