KAISER CHIEFS, CROWDED HOUSE

27-06-2007

Crowded House

One of the best acts from Down Under and Leeds’ finest are heading our way over the coming months.

Crowded House have been off the circuit for years having split up in 1996, although their absence hasn’t made their thoughtful, radio friendly tunes an less popular. Tracks like “Weather With You” are still a staple of Heart and BRMB.

And with good reason. Here is a band which absorbed the finest Anglo influences, imbibed some of that 80’s inde spirit and in “Woodface” came up with one bona fide classic.

Their first album in fourteen years is out Monday, and tickets for their NEC show on December 3 go on Sale this Friday, June 29 at a very reasonable £32.50 plus booking fees.

Far rowdier, but still with a taste for melody Kaiser Chiefs rock into the NIA on November 26. From “I Predict A Riot” through to recent number 2 hit single “Ruby”, crowd -pleasing punk singalongs are their thing. Disposable but fun.
