Taking a breather from recording their new lp to perform
an improvised score to two short films;

And JONNY TRUNK (Trunk Records)
Marking ten years of this excellent label with a medley
of tunes from his bottomless box of delights;

And a new slot called Three and In, where we play 3
shorts by a filmmaker then they pick one of their
favourites. First up: Simon Ellis. Plus various jazz-age
gems and some tasty recent submissions.

DREAM WITHIN A DREAM
Weds 31 October, 8pm
Ikon Eastside, 68-70 Heath Mill Lane, Digbeth B9 4AR

For this special Halloween do to mark the close of Ikon
Eastside's 2007 season, BROADCAST will be reprising their
live scores along with a couple of appropriately gothic
numbers from BLACK GALAXY and haunted audio from guest DJs
JULIAN HOUSE (Focus Group) and HELENA GOUGH. FILMFICCIONES
have created a rather unique installation, and there will also
be short films, apple-bobbing, roast spuds and a cheap bar.
Spooky dress is encouraged... Please also bear in mind that
this is a warehouse, and it will not be warm!

Free entry.

COMPETITION CORNER

win win win
While we are in retro-spooky mode, Soda Pictures have kindly
given us two copies of their new ALTERNATIVE 3 dvd to give away.
This hoax documentary about scientists settling on Mars caused a
mini-uproar when first broadcast on Anglia TV in June 1977, and
there are still people who insist there is some truth in it...

[ http://www.metatech.org/A06/alternative_3_DVD_Mars.html ]

...The dvd release also reunites three of the show's creators to
muse on the film's legacy and prescience. If you'd like to own it,
answer the following question::

Q) Fifteen years after Alternative 3 the BBC duped more innocent
viewers with a controversial Halloween broadcast. Name the
programme, and the ex-Blue Peter presenter who fronted it.

Answers to info@7inch.org.uk, including your postal address.
Two correct answers will be drawn out of a hat on 27th October.
