MICK SCULLY’S “LITTLE MOSCOW”

 14-06-2007

Little Moscow

The latest release from Birmingham based Tindal Street publishing is on the shelves now - and it’s a real corker.  "Little Moscow" is a dark collection of short stories by local lad Mick Scully.

“Little Moscow” is the name of the fictional pub frequented by Mick’s underworld characters, and it’s sited close to an industrial estate somewhere near Tyseley.

Mick cheerfully admits that in his day job as an acupuncturist in Moseley he doesn’t get to hang out much with the criminal underworld, but he has got a keen eye for a boozer.

We asked him to name his three favourite backstreet pubs in Birmingham – so here they are.

  • The Highbury (Dogpool Lane, Stirchley)
  • The British Oak (Pershore Road, Stirchley)
  • The Morsel (somewhere in Aston, not open evenings!)
