Midas

Midas - the Stourbidge based band at the centre of a chart hyping row revealed on The Stirrer - feature in a free CD and download aimed at promoting the local music scene.

The B1 release will also be available on a CD given away in a forthcoming issue of the trade mag "Music Week".

Other bands featured include Vix N The Kix - fronted by the former We've Got A Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use it vocalist; The Mexicolas - a fierce rock band who The Stirrer hears live together in one rocking' Digbeth loft: and the much acclaimed Murdoch.

It's not all snotty guitar bands mind - there's jazz and other stuff too on the release which has been put together by Marketing Birmingham and produced by Tom Lawes, best known for running the Electric Cinema, but a man with a track record in the music biz.

How great to see the City Council getting behind the initiative too.
