NEW ARTY FACTS DISCOVERED AT WOLVES CIVIC 10-05-2008 Gig goers in the Black Country have a new website to enjoy…Arts Wolverhampton which will showcase some of the less raucous acts at the city’s hugely successful Civic Hall complex. With three venues now up and running (the Civic, Wulfrun and the Little Civic) the aim is to provide a bit of “breathing space” for some of the less mainstream attractions. Spokesman John Penney explained: “We came to the conclusion that perhaps we needed to provide a 'quiet space' where customers who are interested our folk, roots and country artists, comedians, singers and songwriters, long established acts, old favourites, classical concerts and experimentalists would have a little more room to breath. “A place where you can see the wood for the trees. “The Civic Halls have a huge rock, metal and pop heritage, hence the great volume of rock and chart acts featuring on our main website, but we don't want our successes confined just to these markets. “We don't want other shows to get 'lost in the mix' so-to-speak, so we have launched a new website where customers can see what we have to offer outside of rock, metal and chart music.” Check it our at www.artswolverhampton.co.uk For full listings and music, go to www.wolvescivic.co.uk |
