Last Night’s Footy ON OFF PLAY OFF ON AGAIN ...MAYBE 23-04-2008 They thought it was all over…it isn’t yet! Wolves 3-0 thrashing of FA Cup finalists Cardiff re-ignited their seemingly forlorn play-off hopes, and with two winnable games left, promotion remains a possibility. Former boss Dave Jones had miserable return to his old stomping ground, as Andy Keogh and Sylvain Ebanks-Blake established a comfortable first half lead. Michael Kightly guaranteed the points shortly after the interval, as the visitors contemplated an injury-free trip to Wembley. Wolves now have a trip to Coventry (struggling but probably safe) and a home game against Plymouth (midtable going nowhere) holding out the prospect of a six point haul. Nothing less will do as they set off in pursuit of the final play-off place currently occupied by Crystal Palace, who are two points clear. |
