Get Out More………………………………..Gig News PAUL WELLER 26-04-2008
One of Britain’s best songwriters of the last 30 years is on the road again – Paul Weller swaggers into the NEC in November as part of his second tour this year. Between now and then, he’ll have released his new 75-minute blockbuster of an album. Weller founded The Jam in the early days of punk (although they were never comfortable being associated with the movement) and got a second lease of life with Style Council. Remarkably, when they split up, he had a third lease of life as a solo artist and has now put out eight albums in his own name. The ninth, 22 Dreams is we’re told, “a kaleidoscopic tour de force incorporating rock, funk, soul, free jazz, classical, spoken word, electronica and all stops in between.” Whichever way you cut it the chance to hear the likes of Eton Rifles, Going Underground, The Bitterest Pill, and Wild Wood along with the new stuff will make this an instant sell out. Tickets priced, £30.00 plus booking and transaction fee go on sale at 9am on Friday 2 May - maximum 6 tickets per household. Tickets can be purchased on-line at www.theticketfactory.com or 0871 945 6000. |
