Oh dear, where do these people come from.

Hitler and the Nazi's were racist - they saw the Jews as a separate Asiatic race to the Europeans. The Slavs of Russia and Romany Gypsies were also viewed as an Asiatic race and also sub-human.

Gebby, go back to your Ladybird books on the Second World War before making such idiotic statements.

You are the master of bollocks MULLANEY, so, HITLER was after Britain, his "jewel in the crown" because the majority of the Brits were Jews?

Gebby, could I suggest you hire out World at War from the video shop before you start making stupid statements about Hitler and the Second World War.

Hitler's plans for Europe were spelled out in Mein Kampf. His saw the Slavs of Eastern Europe as sub-human and saw this as the hinterland for Germany - the Slavs would be pushed eastward or annihilated and the lands vacated colonised. Mein Kampf also illustrated Hitler's hatred of the Jews, whom he blamed for all the failures of Germany, including the loss of the First World War. Hitler wanted the Jews removed from Europe.

Hitler had to invade France, prior to invading Russia, to avoid a War on two fronts. If he invaded Russia first, both France and Britain would have attacked Germany from the West.

Hitler never had full scale plans to invade Britain - many German Generals saw Operation Sealion as a suicide mission, since the Royal Navy was so powerful compared to the German fleet. In hindsight, Operation Sealion is seen by many historians as a sideshow for Hitlers real objective - Soviet Russia.

Sorry, as I have already stated what HITLER wanted above anything else was POWER (as do all dictators), "first stop Europe second stop the world"

Yes he was prejudiced and loathing of certain sectors too, of course he bloody well was, but number one goal was to be in Supreme Rule, he wanted the riches, the power. His ego was his undoing.

You really don't understand what happened in the Second World War, do you?

Just watching a bunch of John Wayne films, does not mean you are now a expert historian (amateur or professional) in Hitler and the Nazi's.

As I said, there are some good Ladybird books on the basics of the Second World War - give them a try sometime. The words are large and easy to read and there are lots of pictures

What a pillock you are, I'm surprised that you know anything at all about it considering your total and abject failure in grasping geography

Still, as per usual you also conveniently sidestep the opening gambit of this actual thread so as to not upset some of your electorate; what should one expect from a Lib. Dem loser wannabee?

Martin, you are being so pedantic and now downright childish with Gebby (and others), you are just making yourself look stupid. (still that's a libdem for you  )
You are now trying to be 'all things to all people', and the previous comments about not upsetting the electorate is, to put it mildly - sounding just about right!!
As Mike Bell says - lets return to the original question.
remember? - 'the coconut councillors'!!! ;)

The only thing we seem to have learned from this thread is standards of "educayshun" were shite far before New Labour came along given Gebby's understanding of the second World War.

This has now got ridiculous. The phrase "The white flighter from Bordesley who sought refuge in Lichfield from the Muslim hordes!" has racist overtones because of the fact that the writer has mentioned the race of the flighter implies that the group he is fleeing from is non-white, despite the fact he has not explicitly said it. Otherwise he has no reason to mention the race of the flighter.

How else would you go about explaining that someone who is white has moved out of an area because they don't like living in an area containing a high proportion of non-white Muslims?

If I comment to someone who is black that they have a "white" core does that make my comments racist? "

If he does not want to live with non-white Muslims, then there are racial overtones. If he does not want to live with White Muslims, then there aren't. But if race matters then surely this has, as I said, racist overtones?

Re your second point, I generally agree with Martin's point:

Quote:
Where the Councillor in this particular issue is at fault, is using the term of abuse outside the black community and on a Councillor with south Asian origins. I still wouldn't call it racist, since it was still used within the non-white community, although inappropriately. I would instead call a stupid illogical abusive comment used in the wrong context.

A white person would not say I had a white core or call me a coconut, they would say something like "We don't think of you as Asian" (and yes, my family members have been told this on more than one occasion). I find this, "coconut" and "bounty bar" a lot less offensive than Mike Bell's decision to promote a party that has been demonstrated time and time again to have links with fascism.

I've already answered that - it wasn't a racist remark.

Let's instead focus on Gebby's complete lack of knowledge about the Second World War. He repeatedly spews out coded racist remarks and yet he doesn't even know the basic history of the country he claims he is defending.

Maybe, Gebby, Mike Bell and the BNP thugs think the wrong side won the Second World War.

Well now you are just spouting bollocks!!!!   (to quote from a previous post).
Why do you always try to have the last (usually way off topic) word?

So would you suggest that it's wrong for a person to leave an area because they don't like the people who live there, (who happen to be of a different race)?

I've tried to disentangle a way through all the other posts clouding the original topic; I've watched the tape & she certainly didn't do a very good job of arguing her case. A shame really, as it's an important issue. However, to voice your opinion and argue your case is one thing; to use a derogatory reference to another colleague, no matter how vexing it is, loses the battle.
I may be wrong, but can I offer an analysis: the authority didn't want to fund the project, as it's very contentious. Rather than say so outright, they set up a 'fall guy' (another BME rep) to oppose it for them. This is a case in point. Amidst the mud-slinging, the original idea is lost. Unfortunately, it appears neither candidate were astute enough to see through the fog. They turned on each other - each outraged in their own corner. There's probably underlying mistrust between the two, where there should have been understanding.

From my understanding of the project, the 750k is a part of a major bid & needed as match funding. It is part of a project of significant national heritage & should be funded. I may be wrong, but I think part of it is going towards the salvage of a slave ship that foundered off Bristol in the 18thC; most were rescued, except the slaves who remained chained in the hold & met a watery end.

Can you imagine the headlines if, as the ship is brought to the surface, as was the Mary Rose, we have skeletons still shackled to the stumps. Nice. No wonder Bristol don't want to fund it. I understand most Bristolians support the project, and the establishment do not.

Cluck, Cluck!

23 now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D

As I said earlier....
I might only have joined recently, but have been an avid reader for months!!

Anyway, I'm not rying to have the last word, just point out that certain people, whilst straying way off the point of the original thread, just started to sound plain silly in doing so!

It is good for a laugh though, to see a libdem LABOUR a point!!!

Oh dear, sorry, back to topic now. 8)

Ok please assess my following statement is it racist.

I would choose not to live in Sparkbrook because it is a mainly muslim area.

I have to place your comments in the context of your membership of a racist party. And in that context I have to say that it isn't unreasonable to conclude that 'Yes' coming from you the statement would be racist or at least xenophobic.

ha ha that is daft, even Trevor Philips 'cre' stated that people feel more comfortable living in communites that are mainly populated by people similar to their own racial make up.
One of my Tory councillors told me that an asylum seeker who was placed in Northfield was re-housed near to the city centre because he didn't feel comfortable living in a majority white ,British area.

I'm not talking about Trevor Philips. I'm talking about you. You keep saying you want a debate so , as someone who claims not to be a racist why are you a member of a racist party?

Dreadful ,dreadful comment.
I have posted in the past the very fact that my family has a proud history of opposing the nazis in both world wars(at a very high cost to them personally).Cheap and nasty dig MM.
I work for a charity which raises money and awareness for our returning troops from the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.I also have for as long as i remember sold poppies .Does that make me a Nazi, facist poppy seller? Raising funds for those who opposed it ? crzayface

In a funny kind of way, Mike, yours is not dissimilar to the Nazi/fascist way of thinking. I've picked up from you an interest in community politics - for example, an interest in public transport. Where you depart from the norm is that you continue to peddle the BNP view on other topics - mainly to do with race and you attempt to divert attention in the guise of those community policies. This isn't going to wash with mainstream voters when it comes to election time, or even now. Your Party's policies are unacceptable to the vast majority of Britain's citizens, thank goodness.

You are not only an idiot you are a liar as you are now making vile and totally false accusations against me.

There is nothing "coded" in my statements (I don't have the gathering of a vote to worry about), as for the 2nd World War I suggest you apply a tad more thought yourself.

I know what my ancestors did during both the 1st and 2nd war (where were yours?), I also know without any shadow of a doubt which country I am defending.
