What's happened to Neighbour of the Beast? He spent two days ripping my article a part, because of one factual error - which I have now admitted was wrong.

However, he makes a [Edited] comment about me [Edited] - I ask for evidence and he vanishes as quick as someone who has just released a quiet, but very smelly anal wind in a busy pub room.

To explain some background to those comments that appeared in the local media.

I had a meeting with a representative of the Church of Scientology at Pitmaston on Wednesday 6th August 2008. This representative had e-mailed me asking if it would be possible to meet.

Prior to this e-mail, I knew that representatives of the Church of Scientology had attended meetings of the Russell Road Resident Association. At these meetings, the representatives had offered to clear up the alleyway in between Russell Road and Moorcroft Road. The members did this and having seen the before-and-after photographs they did a very impressive job.

Also, one member of the Russell Road Residents Association had been walked around the grounds of Pitmaston and explained by the Church of Scientology how they were going to care for these historic grounds – including desilting the quite sizable pond.

Coming back to my meeting on 6th August, you can appreciate that the Church of Scientology were already in the good books of the local residents.

I approached this meeting with an open mind. Obviously, I had seen the Panorama programme with John Sweeney – part 1 of 4 can be seen on YouTube at http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QuJlZ_f1594 . However, I have to accept that they are legal organisation within Britain and as a local Councillor I have to be seen to treat individuals and organisations equally and fairly.

At this meeting the representative on the Church of Scientology was very polite. He explained to me that the building was owned by Centrepoint and that they had an arrangement with them where Centrepoint would not sell the place to another organisation, while they gave the Church of Scientology time to raise the money to buy the place.

From my perspective, I explained that my role was to make sure everyone in the community got on happily together. If the residents of Russell Road were happy with the Church of Scientology as neighbours, then I was happy.

Since then the representative of the Church of Scientology has contacted me asking if any other alleyways need cleaning. I sugguested the alleyway between Moor Green Lane and Elizabeth Road – which they did. I then suggested the alleyway between Woodstock Road and Queenswood Road – which is a nightmare of an alleyway. I don’t think this has been done.
With the revelation that senior members of the Church of Scientology has in effect either owned or being control of the Pitmaston estate since 7th September 2007 has shed a new light on things.

I’m disappointed that Centrepoint Limited, which is owned by a senior member of the Church of Scientology split the estate and sold half of it to a property developer.

I’m disturbed by the mysterious ownership of the other half of the estate – namely the Pitmaston building and wood – by two off-shore Isle of Man companies. These two companies are in reality one company, since they have senior level members of the Church of Scientology as directors. The real owners of these two companies have been hidden by using nominee shareholders, which is legal in the Isle of Man.

I also want to make sure that when the Church of Scientology has been fund raising within their membership to buy Pitmaston, that they have been absolutely clear about who owns it and what they’re involvement in the Directorships has been. This is why I’m interested in seeing their Birmingham Org newsletters 1 to 5.

Thank you for taking the time to post that, very helpful and interesting. I'll take it that they never mentioned the alleyway clearance(s) would be done by children in the guise of anti-drug activity. Anyway, thanks, and hopefully more newsletters will crop up soon.

With regards to the alleyways, I have described the type of stuff they would find in the alleyways. For example the alleyway between Woodstock Road and Queenswood Road has a serious problem with dumped rubbish and rats running about - I have emphasised to the Church of Scientology that this is not a job for children, which I understand they have taken onboard.

As you can see T.H.Kingerlee and Sons Limited bought it for £481,000 on 7th September 2007.

Despite the drop in property prices dropping 10% over the last year, they are trying to sell it for £550,000!!!! See below:



The separation of the land between those owned by Woodview and Bridestowe has already begun - a line of trees have been planted along the boundary between these two plots. These can clearly be seen from Moor Green Lane. See below

Further update on Pitmaston site

Last week in an e-mail, I showed how the Pitmaston estate on the corner of Russell Road and Moor Green Lane, Moseley, had been split into plots and sold off.

Since that e-mail I have been able to confirm the following:

The entire site was sold to Centrepoint Limited for £7million on the 7th September 2007. I now have a copy of the Transfer of Title document WM916290.

With hours, if not minutes of this purchase by Centrepoint Limited, the entire estate was split into 4 plots and sold for £7.7million.

The solicitors dealing with the purchase of land on behalf of Centrepoint Limited, were Hodkin and Company Solicitors, 42-44 Copthorne Road, Felbridge, East Grinstead RH19 2NS. Hodkin and Company Solicitors have regularly acted on behalf of the Church of Scientology in legal issues for over 10 years. A simple google of “Hodkin and Company Solicitors, Scientology” reveals umpteen cases they have acted on behalf of the Church of Scientology.

Plot 7, which is between 34 and 40 Goodby Road is now up for sale. It was purchased by T.H. Kingerlee and Sons for £481,000 on 7th September 2008. Despite a drop in property prices over the last year, it is now up for sale for £550,000. See advert here

The ownership of plot 5 has become clearer. Robert Matthews is a director of Oak Tree Motor Homes Limited. Many thanks for the Birmingham Anonymous group for sending me that information. On the Church of Scientology Honour Roll of people who have donated money to the purchase of Pitmaston, there is a Rob Matthews who has donated £25,000. There is no firm evidence to prove that the owner of plot 5 is the same person as the one on the Roll of Honour.
