PICKET LINE PLEA TO BRUM COUNCIL STAFF 17-04-2008 Unions are appealing to Birmingham Council staff not to cross the picket lines when the two day pay and grading strike strike starts next week. In a leaflet sent to workers, they warn “this fight will determine your pay and conditions for years to come”. The flyer has been sent jointly by Amicus, GMB, Unison, UCATT and the T&G. It also quotes Councillor John Hemming’s comment from The Stirrer Forum, stating that "the avoidance of pay progression has already been accounted for in the Council's medium term financial plan."
