SANDWELL DENIAL OVER MEETINGS PLAN

Sandwell Council have denied claims made by senior Tory councillors that town meetings in Wednesbury are being moved to West Bromwich.

The claims surfaced on Saturday's Stirrer (see story here ) with senior Conservatives in the Black Country borough claiming that it was a "bad day for democracy".

The Council insists that there's nothing to the rumours and that meetings are currently being planned in Wednesbury for the next municipal year.

So have the Tories completely got the wrong end of the stick - or is there more to this than meets the eye? We shall see.
