Military Families Blog THE LAST POST 22-11-2007
Earlier this week, Carol Jones shared her thoughts on the second anniversary of the death of her son Sergeant John Jones in Iraq. Now she wants to make sure he puts his stamp on history. Earlier this year 98 families of fallen soldiers in Iraq were invited to Manchester Central Library to be presented with a sheet of stamps designed by artist Steven McQueen. He had been to Iraq and wanted to do something special for our sons, daughters, wives and husband who fell there. These stamps have now gone to the Imperial War Museum and are on view for the public to see. We have asked the Royal Mail when will they be circulated, but apparently theres no date in the near future for them to go on sale. Why? I am asking if you would please sign our petition to get these stamps in circulation as soon as possible. www.artfund.org/queenandcountryTo see Carol Jones interview on Stirrer TV, click here |
