STIRRER SUMMIT TONIGHT

27-09-2007

Tonight's the night for the Stirrer Summit into the future of Digbeth - so come and have your say about the direction of one of Birmingham's most distinctive quarters.

As regular readers will know, there's been a rumbling row about how to balance the area's growing number of residential developments with the needs of existing pub and club owners.

It was all sparked by the Noise Abatement Order served on The Spotted Dog in Alcester Street following complaints by a handful of residents in the nearby Abacus Apartments.

Can the need for a good night's sleep be reconciled with that loud disco music?

Local councillors Nigel Dawkins - who sits on the city's licensing committee - and Peter Douglas Osborn (planning) will both be in attendance.

Come and have your say tonight at the Spotted Dog at 7.45pm. And look out for a full report on tomorrow's Stirrer.
