THE FABULOUS THUNDERBIRDS (The Robin, Bilston April 11)

18-03-2008

The Fabulous Thunderbirds

The Robin plays host to some beefy Stateside rockaboogie next month when The Fabulous Thunderbirds come to town – fronted by founder member Kim Wilson.

Subtle it ain’t, but there are few bands on the circuit who can muster the T’birds live power.

In short, if it’s a bluesy, heads down barnstorm you want, then you’ve come to the right place.

John Peel regularly played tracks from the band's self-titled 1979 debut, and admired their stripped-down rootsiness, while Muddy Waters has described Wilson as his favourite harmonica player and vocalist.

Tickets are £20 in advance (£22 on the door) from www.therobin.co.uk
