Get Out More...............................Comedy News RICH HALL (Wolves Civic, 9/11/08) 03-05-2008
Is there a top name comedian who isn’t at the Civic Hall this year? Steve Coogan, Jimmy Carr….and now US king of deadpan Rich Hall. With his acid political insights and raw profanity, Hall is the true inheritor of Bill Hicks biting observational humour – he also apparently provided Matt Groening with the inspiration for Mo the grouch bartender in The Simpsons. Not bad for a bloke who used to be a hurricane namer for the US Meteorological Service until he quit eighteen years ago. Since then, he’s never looked back winning an Emmy for writing on The David Letterman Show, and taking the Perrier Award in the guise of his ex-con C&W character Otis Lee Crenshaw. If you don’t know his work, check this out http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Ak_eq1v0gUw Tickets priced £15 are now on sale now from Tickets priced £15.00 are available from Midland Box Office: 0870 320 7000 or online at www.wolvescivic.co.uk |
