VILEEVILS (Little Civic, 27/2/09)

12-11-2008

Ever wondered what happened to Black Country techno-grebos Pop Will Eat Itself? Well, two key members have re-emerged as Vileevils, and have a gig at the Little Civic in Wolverhampton to mark the release of their debut album in February.

Vileevils are Graham Crabb & Adam Mole, who decided to form a new band when a the 2005 reunion of PWEI failed to become a full-time project. Singer Clint Mansell and guitarist Richard March were too busy with side projects to dedicate themselves to writing and performing new material, and so Crabb and Mole decide to head off on their own.

The first Vileevils release was a collaboration with U.S. act 3kStatic in March '08 entitled 'Council Housed And Violent'. It was foillowed shortly after by their first proper release, 'F***ing & Fighting'.

Second single 'The Way I Feel Inside' billed as Vileevils vs. Zombies features the dulcet tones of legendary Zombie Colin Blunstone.

The debut album is to be released in February entitled Vive Le Vileevil named after the iconic Vivienne Westwood/Malcolm McLaren Vive Le Rock t-shirt first designed in 1972 but later updated and popularised by Sid Vicious as part of the Seditionaries range in 1977. The album contains all new versions of the singles, and will be available in a limited edition containing exclusive art work.
